Multima is totally based on the Elemental Engine system, from PvM to PvP, it consists of increasing the various resistances of the character in order to receive less damage as a percentage. There are five resistances.
To increase the resistances see the page Equipment upgrade.
Monsters are Elemental-Based, this means that each monster will have a certain physical resistance and certain resistances to the elements Fire, Cold, Poison, and Energy. The Damage value, on the other hand, corresponds to the physical damage that the monster will cause by affecting your Physical Resistance. While the damage of the spells cast by monsters against you will affect your resistance to the elements Fire, Cold, Poison, and Energy.
As in PvM, the Elemental Engine also acts on PvP, the resistances are to be understood as a percentage so the higher your resistances and the less damage you will receive.
Example: Let's say a Warlock does 55 damage to you with a Flamestrike
|Your Res Fire||Incoming Damage|
This system works on all resistances except for Poison Resistance which in addition has a Bonus capable of making Warlocks fail during a poisoning attempt, the higher your Poison Resistance and the more your opponent will fail.
